Description: Incorporated in 1974, the U'mista Cultural Society opened the U'mista Cultural Centre in November 1980 to house part of the returned 'Potlatch Collection,' a sister collection to one preserved by the Kwagiulth Museum and Cultural Centre on Quadra Island opposite Campbell River, Vancouver Island. Society members are individuals of the Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwagiutl) people.
