Description: This Web site examines through transcriptions and digital facsimiles of archival documents, modern interpretations, including contributions by the Tsilhqot'in people, and educational resources, the killing in 1864 of over a dozen white road builders and settlers on Bute Inlet and in the Chilcotin Region. Klatsassin, which means "we do not know his name," was deemed to be the leader, arrested along with several others, tried, convicted and executed by hanging in 1864.
