Description: The British Columbia Archives is the provincial government's central archives, as well as an archives for private records of provincial significance. Check here for access to the visual records database, including online images of photographs, art, cartographic records; the moving image database; sample moving images and audio clips; the library catalogue since 1985; the archival textual records database covering government and non-government materials with full-text finding aids; and the vital events database for access to indexes of birth, marriage, and death registration records maintained by the Vital Statistics Agency. All databases are full-text retrieval through a search form allowing you to select one, several, or all databases. The BC Archives Web site also features some virtual exhibits.
